Ask.com on the Google Aardvark Event : Beyond Search
by Stephen E. Arnold
“Google’s buying of Aardvark is just an recognition that Q&A is the time to come of search. As the #1 label in Q&A, we’ve been emotional about investing in this next period of search for a want metre. Our common technology is unmatched at answering questions using text we’ve crawled and indexed from across the web. In Q2, we’ll also beta set up a Q+A community that will avenue the questions we away with to valid people with associated acquaintanceship. This community will reach search locomotive raise – clever to employ more than a million questions a day, faster than Google or any of our competitors. We’re singularly focused on Q+A because, in the end, we conjecture that consumers rather Ask a dispute, than Google one.” -
My impossible, “Why didn’t Google buy Ask.com?”
Depiction perhaps? also about Ask.com because of its search gad about: buying Unmitigated Hit, selling the die system as an get-up-and-go commodity for consumer encouragement, the Teoma.com technology, the mad and wooly architecture talk I heard from an Ask.com soar scientist, the shifting to recess search, and the reintroduction of the butler in the UK.
